Uber (WHO-HD)
DES MOINES, Iowa — The ride-sharing business Uber is threatening to pull out of Iowa.
It’s all because of a bill being considered in the Senate, SSB 1228. It would require Uber drivers with a loan on their car to have comprehensive and collision insurance.
Currently Iowa only requires liability insurance.
The legislation was introduced in the Senate Commerce committee.
A similar proposal caused Uber to pull out of Kansas.
